The holiday season is a time for reflection and being thankful for all the good things in our lives. It is also a time for self-assessment….are we being the best we can be as human beings? Are we “giving back” to our community when we can and are we treating each other with humility and respect? Bottom line is, we are all on the same team as we try to make this world a better place; it is the individual interpretation of just how we do this that makes us different.
As I navigate through this Holiday season, I try to focus on all the little things that are good in my life….My healthy parents, my wonderful children and my loyal friends. Actually, as I am writing this, I realize that these things are not so little…they are a large part of my life. I take each day looking for the embedded opportunities and I try to enrich my life with my choices and journeys into the unknown.
I have had the enriching opportunity to share my life with the members of The Barn Merchant Team in Castle Rock for many years (whether they were aware of my presence or not). I continue to this day to enjoy the diversity and uniqueness that each of The Barn Merchants bring to this magical place. Without all of them, The Barn would be just a shell. We come together in our unique way to make our community a better place. We do this through our recognition of our loyal customers and the talents that we collectively bring to each other to make The Barn the iconic community center in Castle Rock that it is today.
The Barn has many plans for the New Year (kind of like resolutions). We have plans to champion a non-profit cause (to be later disclosed), we have plans to once again provide a wonderful place for small special events (like birthday parties and bridal showers) and we are looking to spread our magical influence nationally through a new online E-Mall program.
It has personally been a thoroughly humbling experience to be a part of such an influential small town business for the past several years. I am thankful for the Barn’s presence in my life. I am hopeful that we will continue to successfully provide the type of community gathering place that most small towns routinely thrive upon. We will, The Barn Team, continue to give back to our community team mates in every way that we can, and we look forward to every blessed minute of that journey.
Happy Holidays!
