I want to dedicate this BLOG to all The Barn’s customers who made our Eat, Drink and Give drive for the Douglas/Ebert Task Force such a wonderful success!! The generosity and outpouring of love was a delight to witness.
In all, The Barnie Customers donated 10 full extra-large bags of heavily needed toiletry and personal care items as well as $480 in cash donations. When a fellow Barnie (Brianne) went to the Task Force to deliver the bounty, she summed up the visit below:
“I had the opportunity to take the toiletries and cash donation to the Task Force this morning and wanted to share their absolute elation at receiving the donated items. To say they were overwhelmed would be an understatement; the volunteers and coordinators who helped unload were incredibly gracious, and teared up at the volume of items collected. They reiterated how difficult it is for them to acquire personal care items and said our donation was like finding “10 bags of gold.” They also said they were “stunned” and “overwhelmed” by the cash donation; the $480 dollars donated will be turned in to 1150 pounds of food to distribute to members of the Douglas County community. Pretty incredible!”
This was such a successful drive for the Task Force that The Barn has decided to make this an annual event!!
